SciHive: Explore and Share Scientific Knowledge

Welcome to SciHive — a scientific content sharing platform!
This is a beta release, so the interface may differ from what you see in the video.





Finding Information
  • Use the search bar to locate scientific data points by keyword.

  • Click on any result to view its content in the center of the screen.

  • Each data point can include:

    • Text, links, images, videos, or audio.

  • Navigate using Previous / Next to see connected data points.

    • Black = same author.

    • Orange = other authors.


Ratings and Messages
  • View the average rating at the top left.

  • Each user can post one message and one reply per rating.

  • You can edit your ratings and messages anytime.

  • All rating messages are visible for transparency.


External References
  • Located at the top right of the page.

  • References with an orange “SciHive stamp” indicate credible scientific sources or papers.

  • This helps you quickly verify the reliability of the author’s claims.


Hive Visualization
  • Click “Hive” to explore the network of connected data points.

  • Color code:

    • Black – current author’s data points.

    • Orange – other authors’ data points.

    • Half-black/half-orange – the currently viewed data point.

  • You can drag titles for better viewing or click a node to open it.

Creating a New Data Point

Starting a Data Point
  • To create a new data point:

    • Click “New”, or

    • Use “Create Next Data Point” to link it directly to the current one.




Building the Content
  • Fill in the key fields:

    • Title

    • Description

  • Decide whether your data point is ready for publication or still in draft mode.

  • Write or generate your main content in the editor.


Connecting Data Points
  • Link to previous data points by pasting their titles.

  • You can connect to multiple existing data points, including those from other authors.


Adding References
  • Include references with a title and URL.

  • You can add multiple references for thorough sourcing.


Final Step
  • When your data point is complete, simply click “Save.”

SciHive Profile Management

Profile Settings
  • Access your Profile section to manage your personal information:

    • Username

    • First and Last Name

    • Biography





Your Data Points
  • View all your created data points directly from your profile.

  • You can edit or update any of them easily from this page.


Account Controls
  • Change your password and update your email at any time.

  • If needed, you can also delete your account directly from the profile settings.

Your profile gives you full control over your identity, contributions, and security — making it easy to manage your SciHive presence in one place.
